Feature-packed 2026 EMHF General Assembly in Porto, Portugal

The 2026 European and Mediterranean Horseracing Federation General Assembly was held in the magnificent city of Porto in Portugal.

This year's extended events included a betting conference on Friday 10th July, the Euromed Stewards Conference on the morning of the 11th, and the General Assembly on the afternoon of the 11th and the morning of the 12th.

On Sunday afternoon, delegates headed north to enjoy racing at the beautiful Ponte de Lima racecourse, which is currently undergoing exciting redevelopment. An International Federation of Horseracing Authorities’ Global Summit on Climate Change and Sustainability in relation to Horseracing took place on Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th.

The Liga Portuguesa de Trote e Galope were outstanding hosts, and the extended events meant that key issues for horseracing, such as online betting, EU welfare in transport reforms, sustainability, and more, could be discussed in depth.
