In July 2017, it was decided to create a loose association of those racetracks in our region which stage official, Thoroughbred racing on the beach.

Until the pandemic struck, the European Beach Racing Association held annual meetings, at Plestin-les Greves, Laytown and Sanlucar de Barrameda. In 2020, Duhner-Wattrennen kindly offered to host us, at Cuxhaven, but these plans had to be abandoned due to the pandemic. Sadly, although the 2021 Cuxhaven meeting was Successfully staged, it was decided not to hold an in-person meeting again last year, due to travel restrictions. But this year we were delighted to return hold a hybrid meeting in Cuxhaven on July 24th, following a fabulous days’ racing there the previous day. In 2023, the EPRA will take up the kind invitation of new member Zahara de los Atunes, in Spain.
